Lysaght Railroad

To The Editor:

The police commission has finally fired Chief Lysaght, which is what they intended from the beginning.

That being the case, why did they put the town through unnecessary expense and keep a nice man and his family hanging these months?

It seems this commission has a one-track mind with a total disregard for their own responsibility in this fiasco and the ruin of a man’s career.

It’s not a new police chief we need, it’s a new commission.

By the way, since when does any commission call a meeting, advertise it as “open to the public,” and then not allow the citizens to be heard?

This is the best job of railroading I’ve seen in my 45 years of living in Newtown.
