Due to a weather-related cancellation of the January Families United in Newtown (FUN) meeting, activities scheduled that day will be rolled into a planned Sunday, February 3 gathering.

The meeting, which is open to all local young people and families with a child on the autism spectrum, or with a developmental or other disability, is set for 1:30 pm that day in the cafetorium of Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road.

The event will feature DJ dancing, a relaxing yoga session with Sharon Poarch, attendees will be able to create Valentines to send to the troops, and enjoy refreshments, pizza, ziti, desserts, and birthday cake.

Comfortable, loose fitting clothes are recommended. And since it is Super Bowl Sunday, everyone is invited to wear something representing their favorite team.

Newtown High School National Honors Society juniors and seniors along with student volunteers will assist with care giving while parents can have time to relax and socialize.
