EverWonder Children’s Museum, at 31 Pecks Lane, has announced its calendar for August 2019.

NewArts will present Roald Dahl’s "Matilda the Musical," the Broadway and West End phenomenon, August 2-11 at Masuk High School in Monroe.

The Society of the Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will continue its summer series of one-day workshops next weekend. “Introduction to Oil Painting for Beginners” will be offered Saturday, July 27, from 10 am to 4 pm, with award-winning artist Lisa Wilvonseder-Greto leading the program.

On Friday, July 26, The Horticulture Club of Newtown will host its Sixth Annual Pick and Picnic at The Victory Garden at Fairfield Hills.

Three classic Broadway style musical productions — "A Chorus Line," "Into The Woods" and "Annie Jr" — will be presented by performing arts students from the greater Danbury area at at Western Connecticut State University’s Visual and Performing Arts Center August 1-4. The performers are students of the Sabrina’s Encore Productions, based in Newtown.

On Wednesday, July 24, at 1:30 pm, The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will host Chris Magadini to demonstrate painting a landscape in oil.
