The Newtown Public Schools Nursing Department is sponsoring flu clinics for the public on three upcoming Saturdays at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.

The flu clinics will run on October 13, from 10 am to 1 pm; October 20, from 10 am to 1 pm; and on November 17, from 9 am to noon.

Accepted insurances are Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, ConnectiCare, Harvard Pilgrim, Medicare (Part B), Oxford, Tricare, and United Healthcare. They will not be able to vaccinate people covered by Medicaid/Husky.

For those who are not covered by an insurance administered by the accepted companies, payment may be made by cash, check, Mastercard or Visa. Cost is $40 for injection or $45 for Flumist.

The vaccines are administered by Western Connecticut Home Care.
