Program On Stress And Depression

DANBURY — Danbury Hospital psychiatrists will explore the effects of stress and depression, and address when it is time to seek professional help, at an upcoming Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings. “Good Stress/Bad Stress & Depression” will be discussed on Tuesday, April 10, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Danbury Hospital’s auditorium, 24 Hospital Ave.

Featured speakers include Danbury Hospital psychiatrist Orestes Arcuni, MD, an attending physician and chairman of the Department of Psychiatry/Behavioral Health. He will discuss the physiology of stress, the importance of good stress, and how bad stress often leads to health problems and illness. Dr Arcuni also serves as the program’s moderator.

Another speaker at this program is David Sperling, MD, medical director, Community Center for Behavioral Health and the Center for Child and Adolescent Treatment Services. An attending physician in the hospital’s department of Psychiatry/Behavioral Health, Dr Sperling will address psychotherapeutic coping mechanisms in dealing with stress, including discussion about medications and vitamins.

Medical Town Meetings are sponsored by Danbury Hospital and the Danbury Office of Physician Services, PC, and are free and open to the public. No RSVP is required.
