The US Food & Drug Administration has announced that Altaire Pharmaceuticals Inc. on July 10 issued a voluntary recall for select lots of eye care products sold at CVS, including select CVS Health Brand products. 

Executive Director Matt Ariniello has announced that a ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 am on Friday, July 19, to officially open Newtown Community Center and the new Senior Center.

For its July 18 meeting, the Planning & Zoning Commission has scheduled public hearings on two commercial development projects now underway in different parts of town.

Within hours of a fire that destroyed a 55-year old barn on Meadowbrook Road during the early morning of July 11, a gofundme campaign had been launched by Newtown resident Deana Rohan. Since several "pinhole" leaks and a malfunctioning valve were discovered in the new Community Center pools, they have all been repaired — and plans are still firm for a ribbon cutting and soft opening at the facility on Friday, July 19.
