The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the northern portions of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties. Town boards and commissions, Newtown Parks & Recreation, and Newtown HIgh School programs have all canceled events ahead of the approaching weather.

For the second year, Murphy’s Pub owner Mark Murphy wants to make sure everyone in town enjoys a Thanksgiving dinner. For that reason, The Second Annual Richard T. Murphy Thanksgiving Feast will be taking place at the pub, within Ricky Shopping Plaza at 71 South Main Street, next Thursday.

In Connecticut Superior Court on November 5, Scott B. Young was found guilty of three charges related to a January 2017 fire at the former Rooster Wines & Liquors on South Main Street. The state did not prosecute five additional charges to which Young pleaded not guilty.
