Randi Rote of Sandy Hook, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, passed away peacefully at home May 5, 2025, after a courageous 10-year battle with multiple myeloma.
Former Newtown resident Margaret Fahey Annett (“Peggy”, “Mom” and “Mimi”) passed away in her Wellfleet Cape Cod home surrounded by her family on April 26, 2025.
Jean Mary St Jean, 94, of Keene, N.H., and formerly of Southbury, passed away on April 10, 2025, at her home in Keene, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness.
Virginia Mary Chiaramonte (Ginny), a devoted mother, grandmother, and longtime parishioner of St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, passed away peacefully in Danbury on April 21, 2025.

As a democrat that knows the value of loyalty and who has observed both Michelle Ku and Brandon Moore at Michelle’s recent event and at another gatherings, my family and I stand behind Michelle Ku. She has spent over 14 years actively fighting for Newtown residents and not simply a few months in order to run for a state seat. I think all the candidates are worthy of praise but I want someone who knows what new families and older residents need. I built our home in Newtown hoping our sons will return one day, after their work elsewhere winds down and during our current retirement, to raise families in Newtown. I want someone with a record of advocacy like Michelle’s but also with her sense of commitment and loyalty. I do agree that she deserves the DTC support but when a party is concerned about hurting candidates’ feelings, there is nothing you can do but put one foot in front of the other and she will do that with her usual strength, intelligence, integrity and transparency.
