Former Newtown High School volleyball standout Ardian Kodzodziku, who is getting set to take his game to the professional level, is taking over head coaching duties with the boys’ squad at NHS this spring. Kodzodziku, a 2019 graduate of Newtown High School, has coached elite-level travel teams out of Northeast Volleyball Club in Norwalk for the last five years, helping grow the talent in Connecticut volleyball.

He helped lead Newtown to consecutive South-West Conference championships in his junior and senior years, and an undefeated record both those seasons.

Kodzodziku was an All SWC and All State First-Team selection two years in a row; he earned the Senior All-Star match player award, and the Val Dickinson Senior award.

During his high school career, Kodzodziku played in the Mizuno East Volleyball Club and earned a USA Nationals bid along with four MVP awards in a row, concluding his career with the Coach’s Award. In the summer leading up to his senior year of high school, the standout player got to train with USA Volleyball at its youth training programs.

Kodzodziku went on to play Division I volleyball at Sacred Heart University. He graduated in 2023 and in August of 2024 will be moving abroad in Rome to play professionally in the Italian League.

Ardian Kodzodziku, a former standout with Newtown High, is back with the Nighthawks as the head coach this spring.
