Conservation District Plant Sale

BETHEL — The Southwest Conservation District has begun taking orders for its annual plant sale of evergreen tree seedlings, and potted native and ornamental shrubs.

This year’s sale will include variegated and fragrant shrubs as well as native shrubs for conservation habitats. Blueberry bush sets of early-, mid-, and late-season varieties are included. Potted perennials also will be available on the pickup dates, 10 am to 4 pm on Friday, April 29, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 30, at the Bethel Fairgrounds barn, 69 Stony Hill Road. UConn master gardeners will be available at that time to offer gardening advice.

To order plants, call 203-269-7509 or email swcd43emt@sbcglobal.neg or visit the website www.conservect.org for the current newsletter with the order form.

The Southwest Conservation District is a nonprofit organization that gives technical advice to homeowners, farmers, and municipalities on issues related to soil and water conservation.
