NMS Students Performing 'Shrek The Musical Jr' This Weekend

Newtown Middle School students will take the stage to present Shrek The Musical Jr this weekend, Friday, March 27, through Sunday, March 29.

Students were dressed and rehearsing their roles for the school’s musical production on Monday, March 23.

The show is a family-friendly musical comedy that follows the adventures of an ogre named Shrek who sets off on a quest to save a princess from a dragon; however, it turns out that in order to ultimately succeed, Shrek must battle different obstacles, including learning how to believe in himself.

Shrek The Musical Jr will be performed on Friday at 7 pm, and Saturday at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday at 2 pm. All performances will be at the middle school, 11 Queen Street.

Tickets are $10 per person and started selling on March 9. Remaining tickets not sold before the show dates will be available at the door.

Andrew Tammero is co-directing the musical with Ms Allen, stage manager for the production is John Auerbach, assistant stage managers are Grace Howgego and Emma Gotschlich.
