Marjorie Riddell Wilson, 88, of Redding, formerly a New Canaan resident for 52 years, died peacefully April 9, with her loving family by her side. Her daughter Donna Wilson Swigart and husband Mark of Sandy Hook; three sons and wives, J. David and Sandra Wilson of Darien, John K. and Kathleen Wilson of Wilton, and Robert B. and Julia Wilson of Lexington, Va.; and nine grandchildren survive Mrs Wilson. In addition to her husband, James L. Wilson, who died in 2014, and her parents, her sister, Janice Riddell; and granddaughter, Jamie Wilson, predeceased her.

She began dancing at a very young age and was a graduate of the University of Hartford's esteemed Hartt School of Music. An accomplished ballet dancer and singer, she was a cast member of the 1947 to 1949 Tony award-winning Broadway show 

Mrs Wilson sang in the church choir for many years, and taught dancing and ballet. She was very active in her younger days in the New Canaan Women's Club, as well as many other activities and organizations in New Canaan. She enjoyed traveling, painting, drawing, needlepoint, and knitting.
