La Leche League Honors Dr Draper

DANBURY — Thomas Draper, MD, a pediatrician affiliated with Danbury Hospital, has received the Connecticut Health Professional Award from the La Leche League of Connecticut. Dr Draper was honored for outstanding support, understanding, and acceptance of breastfeeding. He received his award at the La Leche League’s regional conference held in April in Southbury.

Dr Draper, board certified by the American Academy of Pediatricians, had a very active pediatric practice in Newtown for more than 35 years, and is well known among parents and in the pediatric community.

Following many years of service in his pediatric private practice, he was named medical director of community medicine at the Seifert and Ford Family Community Health Center, 70 Main Street, Danbury, an affiliate of Danbury Hospital.

Dr Draper earned his medical degree from Queen College in Canada, and completed an internship and residency at Baltimore City Hospital and Upstate Medical Center in New York. He also earned a master’s degree in public health from Yale University.
