Two Locations For 3rd Annual Flanders Artists’ Day

WOODBURY — The public will have the opportunity to view an exhibit in two locations this year of artwork that resulted from the Third Annual Flanders Artists’ Day.

In May, artists were invited to spend the day on the grounds of the nature center to illustrate in their chosen media what they saw, felt or heard. Last year’s show featured more than 30 works by 20 artists.

This year’s collection will first be exhibited in the post-and-beam Flanders Sugar House from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12. The works include drawings, paintings, sculpture and photography, among other media, and will be offered for sale with part of the proceeds to benefit Flanders. A reception for the artists and the public will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.

The exhibit will then move to Woodbury Public Library, where it may be viewed from June 13 through June 29.

Flanders Sugar House is on Church Hill Road, about three miles north of Route 6 in Woodbury. The library is at 269 Main Street south (Route 6). Further information is available by calling Flanders Nature Center at 203-263-3711.
