“Connecticut’s Got Talent” is a talent competition open to anyone ages 5 to 105 with a desire to bring their family friendly talent to the stage.

The competition, scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, at Newtown High School, will help fund The 12.14 Foundation’s two summer musicals: A Rockin’ Midsummer Night’s Dream and The 101 Dalmatians Musical.

Organizers are looking for performers from all genres including dancers, singers, musical acts, and anything else that is interesting and exciting. Krysta Rodriguez (SMASH, First Date) will be one of the judges, and there will be prizes.

There are two ways to audition for this event:

*Performers can upload a video, no longer than three minutes, to your favorite media sharing website, such as YouTube, and send a link, no later than July 25, to 1214CTsGotTalent@gmail.com. Questions concerning the event can also be sent to that email address; or

*On-site auditions will be conducted in the Newtown High School cafetorium, 12 Berkshire Road, on Wednesday, July 23, from 6 to 10 pm.

The competition will take place on Tuesday, August 5, at 7 pm, at Newtown High School. The public is invited, and tickets are $15 payable at the door.

The 12.14 Foundation was formed following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School to build confidence, inner-strength, inspiration, and the tools children need to lead successful, productive lives. Its mission is to encourage personal development through high-level performing arts programs, which in turn produce a longlasting, positive affect on the way children and young adults see themselves and the world around them.
