To the Editor:

Civil rights, education, financial growth, health care, empathy, and decency appear to be things of the past in Washington, but they can continue to exist here in Connecticut if we promise to elect the people who know how to deliver them.

Rebekah Harriman-Stites, running for State Representative, is an expert.

She is obviously bi-partisan in her successful work building and developing important not-for-profits that benefit education, health, environment, and economic growth.

Our favorites of her issues are: Increasing the minimum wage (!), equal pay for equal work (!), supporting development of small businesses (!), maintaining women’s rights and their reproductive rights (!), and much more — all very important.

Did you know that Rebekah was a founder of My Sandy Hook Family Fund, which raised over $1.5 million to assist the families of the Sandy Hook shooting victims? And she was named “Hero” by Money magazine for her important work that benefited the financial well-being of many folks through this fund.

She was also recognized by the Fairfield County Business Journal as one of its top “40 under 40” business leaders.

She’s pretty impressive. Do vote for her.

And be sure to vote for William Tong for Attorney General of Connecticut, Michelle Lapine McCabe for State Senate, and Jahana Hayes, for 5th Congressional District.
