BONFOEY GALLERY SHOWS DRAWINGS BY 7 ARTISTS

ak/gs set 11/21 #720290

CLEVELAND, OHIO — The drawings of seven accomplished Ohio artists — Laurence Channing, Ken Nevadomi, George Mauersberger, Robert Robbins, and new to the gallery, Julie Friedman, Charles Kanwischer and Lowell Tolstedt — will be displayed at The Bonfoey Gallery, 1710 Euclid Avenue, December 7–January 5. The opening reception will be Friday, December 7, 5 to 8 pm.

The works display in “Delineate” are by a group of artists who use line and shadow as a layered and complex arrangement of aesthetic expression.

“Delineate” explores a sampling of realistically and expressively rendered subjects ranging from unique looks at still life to imagined interior figurescapes from charcoalist Channing’s smooth cityscapes, Friedman’s lacey, wooded compositions, Kanwischer’s graphite on panel images of spare landscapes and sparse, single room interiors, to Mauersberger’s compositions of singular or thinly gathered flowers taped to backgrounds of black or illustrated wood grains, the smoky, untamed, figurative interiors of Nevadomi, Robbins’s explorations of a small, darkened room and Tolstedt’s photorealistic drawings of cellophane wrapped hard candy, untouched fruit, glowing candles and Christmas lights, these pieces are fully formed complete thoughts and sophisticated works of art.
