Passersby may have been confused one day this week when passing by St Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. For those traveling east on Church Hill Road on Tuesday, an old billboard for Chip’s Restaurant — well-known for multiple varieties of pancakes — was reportedly being used by construction workers to protect the church building’s stained glass windows while shingles were being pulled off the roof during the current renovation and expansion project. No worry for Rotary Club of Newtown members or those who are looking forward to this weekend’s 58th Annual Pancake Day. On Saturday, December 1, from 8 am until 1 pm, everyone can still visit Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, for an all-you-can-eat breakfast of just-cooked pancakes and sausage, Sandy Hook Maple Craft Foods syrup, and beverages, including plenty of coffee, served from 8 am until 1 pm. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for ages 10 and under.  (Mike Brokaw photo)
