211 Infoline Now On The Internet

Connecticut residents looking for information on human services, crisis intervention or referrals to community services can call 211 Infoline, a single statewide source for information. The comprehensive, toll-free call referral center, a partnership of the Connecticut United Ways and the State of Connecticut, is now available on line at www.211infoline.org.

“211 Infoline has been helping Connecticut residents for over 25 years with its 24-hour, telephone information and referral service,” said June Renzulli, president of United Way of Northern Fairfield County. “Now they will be able to reach even more people by offering services on their new website.” The instant, Internet-based community connection for current information about community and government services is updated daily, and offers a searchable health and human service database containing more than 4,200 agencies and 38,000 services in Connecticut.

The website provides information on local and state entities, nonprofits, support groups, nursing homes, home health care providers, and much more. There is also a searchable child care database to help find local child care providers quickly and easily. It offers multilingual caseworkers and TDD access is available for the hearing-impaired.

Visit www.infoline.org or dial 211 toll-free anywhere in Connecticut. In 1999, Connecticut became the first state of offer statewide 211 service. To date, there are 81 active 211 services in the country. Annually, 211 Infoline answers more than 300,000 calls from Connecticut residents.
