As part of the continuing construction project to replace the dual two-lane Interstate 84 bridges that cross above Center Street in the Riverside section of Sandy Hook, the state plans to make some physical changes at the construction site on westbound I-84 overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.
That construction zone is located along I-84 in the area between the Rochambeau Bridge over Lake Zoar and the I-84 overpass above Alpine Road.
Nearly two years ago, we survived an unimaginably horrific day. Twenty-six families would never be the same. Many more were changed forever. Through the nightmare of the days that followed, my best-friend, my husband, repeated in my ear: “Something good will come of this.” Impossible, I thought. Just impossible.
It’s that time of year again. The 4th annual Passport to Sandy Hook [Saturday, October 11 from 11 am to 4 pm in Sandy Hook Center]. We are so excited here at Family Fun Kuts and Fun Kids Consignments to share a Fun-filled day with all of our friends and customers. We are looking forward to seeing old faces and new ones and making new friends.
I would like to thank The Newtown Bee in regards to their coverage of the recent bomb threats on Sandy Hook Elementary School. Although this can be a hard topic to return to, The Bee reported with objectivity and taste. It was detailed, informative, and went above and beyond the coverage of many mainstream news sites with in-depth reporting of the debriefing for parents and the terroristic nature of the threat.
