NEW MILFORD â Beginning in January, New Milford Hospitalâs integrative and complementary care therapies will be available to all patients. These modalities can be of great benefit to patients managing conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, anxiety, and cancer.
There is no charge for the sessions. The schedule for January is provided below.
Starting in February, these sessions will be offered on a recurring schedule to be announced, and monthly registration will be requested.
Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction that promotes healing. It is administered by âlaying on handsâ and is based on the principle that life force energy flows through us.
Facilitator: Mary Ellen Foster, RN
Tuesdays, January 12 and 26, 1:30 to 2:30 pm, in the Interfaith Chapel.
Chair Yoga. Relaxation techniques involving breathing, movement and/or meditation.
Facilitator: Trish McDonald, RN
Thursdays, January 14 and 28, 12:30 to 1:30 pm, in Robison Room A.
Healing Drum Circle. Explore the universal healing power of the drum, while focusing on sound and rhythm. No experience is necessary; drums and other percussion instruments will be provided.
Facilitators: David and Joanne Wonsey
Friday, January 15, 10 to 11 am, in the Interfaith Chapel
Guided Imagery & Relaxation. Imagery and breathing techniques to manage stress and pain.
Facilitator: Gayle Pantaleo, MSW
Wednesdays, January 6 and 20, 10:30 to 11:30 am in the Interfaith Chapel.
