Business Author Speaking At Networking Luncheon

NORWALK — The Entrepreneurial Woman’s Network (EWN) is hosting Barbara Weltman, a top-selling author of 25 books, media commentator and national speaker, sharing her toolbox of survival and success strategies to kick off 2009. The event will take place from noon to 2 pm on Tuesday, January 13, at the Norwalk Inn & Conference Center, 99 East Avenue.

Giving your business the edge it needs in these challenging economic times will be Ms Weltman’s main topic as she pulls in information from her books, weekly radio shows, and newsletters. Her materials explore the gamut of small business, market-impact strategies in technology, energy costs, health insurance, employee retention, taxes, and more.

Ms Weltman, a New York Bar member, is a leading authority on tax, law, and finance for small businesses with books such as J.K. Lasser’s Small Business Taxes and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Starting a Home-Based Business.

She is a contributing writer for Inc.com and NY Enterprise Report, and has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and many other media outlets. In addition to her weekly Build Your Business radio show, Ms Weltman also publishes her Idea of the Day and Big Ideas for Small Business monthly e-newsletter.

She is an active Small Business Advocate Brain Trust member and an advisory board member for Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council, Women Entrepreneurs Inc, and three of Boardroom’s Bottom Line divisions.

For anyone interested in attending the event, paid reservations must be received by 5 pm, Friday, January 8, to qualify for the advance reservation rate of $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Walk-ins pay an additional $5 late fee.

Reservations not received by the deadline will be accepted on a “space available basis” and must be made online at www.ewn-ct.org. For more information, call 203-222-3404 or view EWN’s website.
