Richard W. Dick

Richard W. Dick, 88, of Trumbull died December 28. He was born in New York City and later moved to Trumbull where he resided with his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Strickland) Dick.

In addition to his wife, his three children, Carol Anderson, and her husband Douglas, of Newtown, David, and his wife Nellie, of Bridgeport, and Michael of Oxford; a sister, Eleanor Heym, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews survive Mr Dick.

He was a veteran, having served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in manufacturing engineering and worked for the Bullard Company in Fairfield prior to working at, and retiring from, the Perkin-Elmer Company, Optical Technology Division, in Danbury.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed golfing, fixing things around the house, and spending time with his family.

Mr Dick was an active member of the Trumbull Congregational Church and served in various capacities over the years.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 am, Friday, January 3, at the Trumbull Congregational Church, 3115 Reservoir Avenue. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family Thursday, January 2, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trumbull Congregational Church.
