The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will open the new year with an oil painting demonstration by Melody Asbury of Woodbury. Mrs Asbury will be painting an animal in a landscape at the SCAN meeting on Wednesday, January 12, at 7:30 pm.
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will open the new year with an oil painting demonstration by Melody Asbury of Woodbury. Mrs Asbury will be painting an animal in a landscape at the SCAN meeting on Wednesday, January 12, at 7:30 pm.
The demonstration, open to the public free of charge, will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).
Melody Asbury, whose expertise lies not only in animal painting but also in portraiture, has won numerous awards in Connecticut, Ohio and the Greenwich Village section of New York City.
Mrs Asbury teaches at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury and is represented by Randall Tuttle Fine Art Gallery in Woodbury, where she is currently in a group show. (The Randall Tuttle show, âThe Millennium Exhibition,â will continue until the end of January.)
