Glaucoma Lecture And Screening

SOUTHBURY — In recognition of National Glaucoma Awareness month, Dr Stephen Taylor, an optometrist at the Southbury Plaza office of Opti Care Eye Health Center, will present a lecture and slide show at East Hill Woods, 611 East Hill Road, Southbury on Tuesday, January 11 at 1:30 pm.

He will address the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and will also touch upon other age-related eye disorders.

Glaucoma is most common in people over 35, threatening the sight of two in every 100 persons. It is often referred to as the “silent blinder” as it is painless and symptomless until advanced stages when it is very difficult to treat.

A question-and-answer period will be included.

Glaucoma screening and minor eyeglass adjustments will be available immediately following the lecture. Light refreshments will be served. If you would like to attend, call 262-6161.
