FOR JANUARY 14 –

KEEP HOMESTEAD MUSEUM RECEIVED PFIZER GRANT –

TG/jl set 1-5 #614976

MONSON, MASS. — A Pfizer Grant was received by The Friends of the Keep Homestead Museum, due to the generous volunteer efforts of Dr George Gauthier and his wife Joy of Groton, Conn., who drive to the museum on a regular basis to work on the button collection, helping with the cleaning, recarding, inventory and displaying of the various types of buttons.

Gauthier has created a new exhibit on China buttons for the April opening at the Keep Homestead Museum, and his wife is helping with the new plastic exhibit, also to open in April.

The grant money will be used for museum programs. The Keep Homestead Museum will reopen for the 2005 season on April 3, 1 pm to 3 pm, and will conduct open houses on the first Sunday of each month through December. The nature trails are open year-round for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Maps are available in the parking lot. For information, 413-267-4137 or www.keep homesteadmuseum.org.
