FREEHOLD, N.Y. — Carlsen Gallery announces an important auction at its gallery, on Sunday January 16, at 11 am, that contains several wonderful collections of art, antiques, furniture and estate jewelry.

Included is a collection of fine oil paintings being deaccessioned from an important corporate art collection, such as Gardner Symons, Walter M. Oddie, Emile Levy, J.E. Meadows, Louis Betts, Chauncey Ryder, Granville Perkins, Bruce Crane, George Inness, E.L. Henry, William Hart, Johanne Berthelsen and others.

Many important pieces of American furniture will be offered, including two pieces attributed to the workshop of Duncan Phyfe, New York. One is a card table with carved cluster column supports and carved saber legs; the other is a reeded urn candlestand, offered for the first time at auction. Additionally, there is a spectacular Meeks Armoire, and a nice group of quality period furniture and accessories from the Eighteenth and Nineteenth centuries.

Also in the sale is an important group of estate jewelry: an elegant emerald and diamond necklace, the main stone of which is a four-carat natural emerald; two diamond bracelets with both total carat weights in excess of 11 carats; an emerald-cut diamond ring measuring more than three carats; two pair of earrings by Cartier; a triple strand of pearls with lovely ruby clasps; a platinum and diamond necklace and two diamond brooches.

From a Connecticut collector comes a fabulous group of early porcelain that includes Eighteenth Century English and Dutch delft, early Oriental blue and white, Rose Medallion and Rose Mandarin, a Celadon glazed tea and dessert service and other rarities.
