Mike Fern poured in 34 points – with the aid of five three-pointers – and Rafael Cardoso added 18 more to lead Pantan Landscaping to a 87-70 win over The Gym at Newtown in recent Newtown Men’s Basketball League action.

John Pantan added 16 points for the winners while Ken Wright paced The Gym with a 25-point effort. Mike Bolton added 23 points and James Perkins tossed in 16.

Jay Platt canned 25 points and Steve Platt added 19 more to lead Southbury Printing to a 61-52 win over Svanda Painting. Chris Watson scored nine points and Jim Anderson contributed eight points (while shooting 6-of-9 from the free throw line). For Svanda, Brian Meath had 14 points and Cody Forte had 11.

Tim Frawley Jr. popped in 24 points and TJ Maguire added 22 (18 of those in the first half) to life Garage Door Specialists to a 78-73 win over My Place Pizza. Joe Braun tossed in 13 points while Seth Fredericks added nine. For My Place, Daguan poured in 43 points and Bob added 13.

Mike Fern canned 25 points and Rich Engel added 21 to lead Pantan Landscaping to a 79-54 win over Garage Door Specialists. Torrence Lamb tossed in 10 points for Pantan while John Pantan chipped in with eight. For Garage Door, Joseph Conti popped in 17 points while Tim Frawley Jr and Joe Braun combined for 23.

Jerry Reidy poured in 25 points while Dave Waite and John Futterman tossed in 15 points apiece as Svanda Painting defeated Newtown Phone Book, 66-49, in a game halted when Phone Book was left with two eligible players. Mark Svanda added 12 points for the winners while Steve Hordos had 17 points and Steve Bigham had 14 for the losers.

Tim Fralwy Jr. and Joseh Arconti scored 23 points apiece to lead Garage Door Specialists to a 69-65 win over Svanda Painting. Joe Braun tossed in 14. For Svanda, Matt Mariani tossed in 18 points while Jerry Reidy and Dave Waite combined for 23 more.

Dave Samoskevich poured in 29 points (hitting 10-of-10 from the foul line) and Pat Sullivan added 21 to lead Newtown Phone Book to a 72-58 win over Southbury Printing. Steve Bigham popped in 16 points for the winners as Chris Watson led Southbury with a 19-point effort. Jay Platt hit four three-pointers and chipped in 16 points while Brian Atherton added 13.

Scott Lavalle canned 36 points and Tom Santella added 15 to lead Total Pool & Spa to a 72-54 win over D’Amico Painting. Kevin Barrett added nine points and Tom Birch tossed in eight.

For D’Amico, Jeff LaFlamme scored 22 points and Aaron Vangor had 14.
