Angela Marie Corso Fedak

Leaves A Legacy Of Love And Laughter

Angela Marie Corso Fedak, 83, of Sandy Hook and formerly of Stratford, widow of her beloved Joseph Fedak, died December 31, at Danbury Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on September 9, 1928, to Rachael R. (Jenecaro) and John H. Corso, in Bridgeport.

Mrs Fedak worked for the City of Bridgeport as an emergency operator for 24 years. She finished first on the civil service list for the new ERS Center in 1964. After her retirement, she worked for Cendant Corp, for 15 years.

She was a woman of great faith, and was a church organist for more than 55 years in Bridgeport and the surrounding area. She also volunteered to play at several nursing homes, as well as the weddings of several of her nieces and nephews, and their children’s’ weddings.

Her great passions were for directing variety shows: tap dancing, theater, and working on many events for the Barnum Festival in Bridgeport. She was delighted to be named marshal of the Parade of Champions in 1977, and in 1986 she was executive aide to Elizabeth Pfriem, ringmaster. She was proud to have been named Volunteer of the Year in 1983.

Mrs Fedak was also a member of the Yankee Maids barbershop group in lower Fairfield County. For the last four years, she was actively involved with the Newtown Senior Center. Angie was a woman who loved to laugh, and could regale you with a story or joke at the drop of a hat. She was a genuinely kind woman who remembered everyone’s birthday, their children’s’ names and birthdays, and when and how they became friends.

She is survived by her beloved son, John Fedak, and his wife Cara, of Sandy Hook, with whom she lived. She also leaves two beloved grandsons. Her brothers-in-law Gene Fedak and Paul Fedak and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive Mrs Fedak. She considered herself blessed to have several lifelong friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers, twins John “Jack” of Danbury and Russell of Hamden.

Funeral services took place January 5. Interment was in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to St Raphael/St Margaret’s Parish, 162 Oak Street, Bridgeport CT 06604.
