Annual Summit In Connecticut

STAMFORD — Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP), based in Lexington, Mass., announced that that the annual Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit, the premier annual event for showcasing the region’s leadership in accelerating energy efficiency, will be held at the Hilton Stamford Hotel on June 13-14.

Connecticut Light & Power has signed on as the event’s first Platinum sponsor. The theme, “The Business Case for Efficiency,” will focus on how leading policy, industry, and business leaders use energy efficiency programs and policies as a tool to stimulate the economy, create jobs, decrease energy costs, and reduce their carbon footprint.

“NEEP is excited to have our longtime supporter and ally, Connecticut Light & Power, sign on as the 2012 Summit’s first Platinum sponsor, demonstrating its commitment to energy efficiency as a first order resource. Connecticut is a great place to celebrate the noteworthy strides that the Northeast has taken toward recognizing and adopting energy efficiency as an effective solution to the challenge of reliable and clean energy,” said Sue Coakley, executive director of NEEP. “This year’s summit theme will focus on business leadership for energy efficiency and will highlight the economic and environmental benefits of efficiency investments.”

“NEEP’s work contributes to our success and we’re proud to partner with them to host the 2012 Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit in Connecticut. This summit brings visibility to the strong leadership of the Northeast in energy efficiency programs and policies,” said Ron Araujo, director, customer relations and strategy for Connecticut Light and Power.

The summit includes a day of workshops prior to the conference, which focus on specific areas of interest such as workforce development or residential lighting in the Northeast. The all-day regional conference features high-profile speakers from across the region and will address the need to accelerate the adoption of energy efficiency public policies while helping to enhance the business leader’s voice for energy efficiency.

The summit will also include NEEP’s successful Business Leaders program (http://neep.org/neep-summit/Business-Recognition/business-recognition-archive), a celebration of regional business leaders who have implemented energy efficiency measures and investments in order to gain a competitive economic advantage across a variety of industries.

To complement the conference, the summit will feature an exhibition of 40 leading-edge providers of energy efficiency products and services for the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Past exhibitors have included Conservation Services Group, CREE, Embertec, ThinkEco, Enerpath, Jaco Environmental, OSRAM Sylvania, Lime Energy, and Tendril.

The NEEP summit regularly draws 300 to 400 attendees from all over the United States, with most coming from the Northeast region, to discuss ways of ramping up efficiency. Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels. All sponsors receive significant visibility in communications and marketing materials, as well as exhibit space, complimentary passes to the summit, and other benefits.
