Robert R. Schwabe

Cherished Family And The Beauty Of Nature

Robert R. Schwabe, 75, of Fairfield, died December 25. He had been a resident of Fairfield for more than 30 years.

Mr Schwabe was the beloved husband of Carole, and they were anticipating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2011. His memory will forever be alive within his three children, including Karen L. Savoca of Newtown; his four grandchildren, and extended friends and family.

He was a finance executive employed by General Motors and Amax Inc. Until his death, Mr Schwabe was a rural postal carrier in Weston.

Mr Schwabe’s greatest passions in life were his family, music, nature, and traveling. He and his wife frequented the Metropolitan Opera in New York for most of their married lives, as well as Tanglewood in the Berkshires. He found peace and solitude in the mountains.

Mr Schwabe traveled extensively and valued the opportunity to explore many locations in Europe, Africa, and South America.

A private ceremony took place at The Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield, December 30. Mr Schwabe was laid to rest at Oak Lawn Cemetery in his hometown, the Bronx.
