Armand “Bud” Joseph Turcott, Jr, born Wednesday, April 8, 1942, in Bridgeport, first born son of and one of five children to the late Evelyn Beck Turcott and late Armand Joseph Turcott, Sr, passed away at his Monroe home of 41 years with his daughters beside him on Friday, December 11, 2020, at the age of 78.

Bud grew up in Bridgeport and acquired carpentry skills while attending Bullard-Havens Technical School. After school, he enlisted in the Army in July 1959 and was assigned to the 3rd Armored Division in Grafenwohr, Germany. Upon returning to the United States, Bud worked as a carpenter at Fairfield Lumber and married the love of his life, the late Carol Francis Wright from New Jersey, in 1963. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage and four children. Bud worked for Avco-Lycoming for several years and then as a carpenter, often as foreman, until his retirement in 2010.

Bud rarely missed a day of work to support his family, enjoyed good pranks and jokes, country music, spending time with his family, RV camping with his wife, and working on do-it-yourself and home improvement projects. He was proud to serve his country and had the utmost respect for those who also served in the armed forces. He especially enjoyed his time after retirement as a Monroe school bus driver and his involvement in making wishes come true for others through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Bud loved the great outdoors and traveled to destinations such as Alaska, Arizona and the Grand Canyon, Nova Scotia, Canada, Niagara Falls, all New England states, and Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry. Bud adored his canine companions, Brandy and Cassie.

His beloved son, Armand “Buster” Joseph Turcott, III; grandson, Daniel Luke Kennedy; and sister, Anita Nyszik, predeceased him.

Bud is survived by his three daughters, Dawn Turcott-Milks (Jon) of Newtown, Lisa Kennedy of Clinton, Maine, and Christina Amici (Michael) of Bethany. Bud is also survived by his brother, Albert of Oxford; two sisters, Debbie of Virginia and Donna of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Coleen Kennedy, Bryan Kennedy, and Natalie Amici; and four great-grandchildren.

Interment will be privately held in the spring in St Johns Cemetery, where he will rest eternally in peace alongside his wife and son.

Bud will always be loved and very sadly missed by his family. The family wishes to thank Bud’s daughter, Dawn, who selflessly cared for him for the last decade after Mom passed away until his dying day. Also, the family extends their appreciation to the care teams at Bridgeport Hospital and Seasons Hospice for guidance and support during Dad’s final weeks on earth; Vathana and Sam Chhiv for being wonderful neighbors to Dad and all of their care, comfort, and prayers; and Spaddacino and Leo Gallagher and Sons Funeral Home for their services.
