Western CT Community TV is taking reservations for its Video Production Training Program.

The next class starts Tuesday, January 21, at 6 pm, in the Charter Communications studio, 11 Commerce Road.

Participants get hands-on experience in all aspects of media production.

Access producers make in-studio programs, record community events, and air these programs on the public access channel 192. Those who successfully complete the program will become local access producers, who will have the opportunity to use their new skills to produce their own public access television program.

The free program is open on a first-come, first-serve basis for residents of Charter’s 20-town service area: Barkhamsted, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Colebrook, Harwinton, Kent, Monroe, New Fairfield, New Hartford, New Milford, Newtown, Roxbury, Sherman, Southbury, Trumbull, Washington, West Harland, Winchester and Woodbury.

Minimum age requirement for the program is 18. Classes are two hours each, and there are eight sessions.

Call the studio at 203-304-4050, e-mail PEG.CTW@charter.com, or visit ctv192.org for details and an application.
