Nighthawk Gymnastics Team Wins Meet

Led by another all around victory by Brianna Schoffstall and a third-place finish by Aliyah Reuther, the Newtown High School gymnastics team defeated Oxford and Pomperaug of Southbury at Newtown Gymnastics Academy on January 20. The Nighthawks scored 134.6, Oxford had 98.45, and Pomperaug 98.4.

Schoffstall had an 8.55 on vault, 9.15 on bars, 9.55 on the balance beam, and 9.15 for her floor routine and had an all around score of 36.4. Reuther finished with an 8.3 on vault, 8.2 on bars, 8.35 on beam, and 8.6 on floor for an all around score of 33.45. Kelsey Brennan came in fourth with an 8.0 on vault, 7.9 on bars, 8.05 on beam, and 8.4 on floor for an all around score of 32.35.

Sadie Boyajian had an 8.15 on vault, 7.45 on bars, 8.05 on beam, and 7.9 on floor. Camila Collesian had an 8.4 on vault, 7.6 on bars, 7.1 on beam, and 7.85 on floor. Eva Fenaroli scored an 8.45 on vault, 6.85 on bars, and 7.7 on beam.
