Birds & Butterflies In Your Garden

The Garden Club of Newtown will feature Sue Lavallee as the guest speaker for its February meeting. Ms Lavallee’s program will be “Attracting Birds and Butterflies To Your Garden.”

Ms Lavallee was to be the guest speaker for the club in January, but the monthly meeting was cancelled due to bad weather.

Second only to gardening, bird watching and feeding are the fastest growing national pastimes today. Topics in Ms Lavallee’s discussion will include plant selection, backyard habitats, supplemental feeding, life cycles and migration.

Ms Lavallee is a garden center consultant, organic gardener and an avid birder.

The meeting will be at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown, on Tuesday, February 8. Members will have lunch and a business meeting at noon, followed by Sue Lavallee’s program at 1 pm.
