With the possibility of the town purchasing Fairfield Hills looming in the future, what would you like to see the property used for?

Amy Holcomb: “It would make a beautiful school or education park.”

Peter Markey: “As a carpenter, I would like to see it turned into a corporate park, because hopefully [corporations] would go union, and the revenues would go back into the town because unions use local labor.”

Mike Williams: “It [could be] a spectacular piece of mixed-use property, with a golf course, gardens and public and private schools. I think a whole community should be put up there, integrating the old with the young.”

Bill Payton: “I think it should be the nucleus for town government. Reroute traffic to go through it, so Main Street can be kept as an historic village.”

Mary Alice Jette: “Make use of the buildings by renovating them and offering them for senior housing. I work with deaf people, and I know that deaf people would love to have a senior housing development where they could all be together and communicate with each other.”

Renee Whippie: “I like the idea of a few more athletic fields, and maybe a nature trail system.”
