Dog Charge
Police report they charged Melanie Ancin-Scott, 46, of 18 Mt Pleasant Road with allowing a dog to roam on the night of January 28, following a complaint that her roaming dog had chased another dog and a person on Smoke Rise Ridge.
Ms Ancin-Scott received a misdemeanor summons from police and was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charge.
Route 34 Deer
Police said motorist Richard Simoneau, 54, of 7 Crabapple Lane, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1993 Honda Civic sedan southbound on Route 34 about 6:15 pm January 29, encountered a deer which ran in front of the Honda, resulting in a collision. Mr Simoneau was not injured in the crash, police said.
Dodgingtown Crash
Motorist Chris Jodlowski, 28, of Carmel, N.Y., who was driving a 2000 Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle southbound on Flat Swamp Road near Jangling Plains Road about 7:30 am January 31, slid off the road while making a curve and struck a tree, according to police.
Jodlowski was not injured in the accident. Police verbally warned Jodlowski for making a restricted turn.
Berkshire Road
Police report that motorist Sandra A. Schofield, 45, of Bethel, who was driving a 1993 Buick LeSabre westbound on Berkshire Road near Sherman Street about 5:45 pm January 27, encountered a deer which had run into the road.
The Buick hit the deer and the animal ran off, police said. Schofield was uninjured.
Jordan Hill VW
Jonelle M. Shubert, 31, of Bethlehem, who was driving a 1987 Volkswagen station wagon southbound on Jordan Hill Road about 7:12 am January 31, lost control of the auto on an icy patch and struck a tree, police said. Shubert was uninjured. Police took no enforcement action.

Boggs Hill BMW
Motorist Mitchell J. Holmes, 45, of West Redding, who was driving a 1987 BMW 325-IE coupe eastbound on Boggs Hill Road about 8:30 am January 30, went around a curve and slid on an icy patch, went across the roadway and struck a snow bank and mailbox, police said.
Holmes was uninjured. Police verbally warned Holmes for failure to keep to the right on a curve.
Lexus Vs Ford
Motorist Todd Bliss, 32, of 12 Deerfield Drive, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1988 Ford Bronco sport-utility vehicle southbound on Main Street about 2:40 pm January 29, was making a right turn into a parking area when a southbound 1996 Lexus sedan driven by Sandra Patterson, 49, of Derby passed the Ford on the right, resulting in a collision, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Patterson a written warning for passing on the right.
Nissan Crash
Evan R. Jones, 32, of North Haven was driving a 2000 Nissan Sentra eastbound on Mt Pleasant Road near Sawmill Road about 5:30 pm January 26 when the Nissan struck a deer which had run into the road, police said. Jones was uninjured. The deer died. The Nissan was towed from the scene.
Minivan Vs Deer
Motorist Virginia C. McDade, 41, of 15 Yogananda Street, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1999 Ford Windstar minivan westbound on Route 34 near Lone Oak Meadows about 6 pm January 25, encountered a deer on the road, colliding with it, police said. The impact with the deer dented a body panel on the vehicle and broke a window, police said. Ms McDade was uninjured, according to police.
Turkey Hill Collision
Motorist Jennifer L. Van Epps, 18, of 44 Jeremiah Road was driving a 1989 Ford Taurus eastbound on Turkey Hill Road about 9:45 am January 30, when she rounded a curve and skidded into a utility pole. The road was covered with ice, slush, and water, police said. Van Epps was not injured. Police verbally warned her for making an improper turn.
Boggs Hill Accident
Police report that motorist Aferdita Ramadani, 35, of 25-A Hundred Acres Road was driving a 1987 Chevrolet Nova sedan northbound on Boggs Hill Road about 7:40 am January 31 when Ramadani went around a curve, lost control of the auto and skidded across the road, going into a wooded area.
Ramadani was not injured. Police issued a written warning to Ramadani for making an improper turn and operating a motor vehicle with unsafe tires. Police said the auto had three worn tires.
Hattertown Mishap
Motorist Allan H. White, Jr, 40, of Stratford, was driving a 1997 Hyundai Accent northbound on Hattertown Road about 7:15 am January 31 when, while rounding a curve, he lost control, skidded across the road and went down the driveway at 12 Hattertown Road, struck some objects and then came to rest at 10 Hattertown Road.
White was uninjured in the mishap, police report. Police issued him a written warning for making an improper turn and operating a motor vehicle with unsafe tires. The Hyundai had four bald tires, police said.
Town Truck
Police report motorist Joann B. Hetzer, 38, of 24 Beechwood Drive, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry, was stopped on a hill on Beechwood Drive about 9:20 am January 31 and waiting for a town truck to sand the road, which was icy.
A town snowplow arrived to sand the road, but as the truck was climbing a hill, it starting sliding backwards down the hill, resulting in the truckâs plow striking the Toyota, police said.
John Burns, 56, of 46 Waterview Drive, Sandy Hook, was driving the 1999 town truck, police said.
There were no injuries.
Currituck Collision
Motorist Jack Chiusa, 48, of 4 Parmalee Hill Road was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee southbound on Currituck Road about 7 am January 31, as motorist Phillip Alexander Ames, 17, of 23 Adams Hill Lane was driving a 1991 Ford Explorer westbound on Kenan Road, police said.
The Ford skidded on black ice and collided with the Jeep at the intersection of the two roads, police said. There were no injuries.
Beechwood Drive
Police report a weather-related accident on Beechwood Drive about 8:45 am January 31.
Eastbound motorist Brian Ramey, 24, of Danbury, who was driving a 2000 Ford Taurus, slid backward on ice and crashed into a parked, unoccupied sedan, police said. Ramey was not injured, police said.
Mt Pleasant Crash
Motorist Sara Egan, 19, of Bethel, who was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Mt Pleasant Road near Johnnie Cake Lane about 3:27 pm February 1, was stopped in a line of traffic waiting for a westbound school bus to drop off students, when eastbound motorist Bianca Barrese, 19, of Port Chester, N.Y., who was driving a 1993 Nissan sedan, drove into the rear end of the Jeep, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Barrese a written warning for operating a motor vehicle at an unsafe distance.
Hawleyville Deer
Police report motorist Dean V. Enger, 33, of Brookfield, was driving a 1998 Saturn SC-1 coupe southbound on Hawleyville Road, north of its intersection with Currituck Road, about 6:45 pm January 31, when the Saturn struck a deer which was in the road. Enger was not injured, police said.
Dodgingtown Collision
 Police report motorist Harry S. Strauss, 58, of 49 Dodgingtown Road, who was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla about 5:30 pm February 1, backed out of his driveway at that address and drove onto Dodgingtown Road, where the Toyota was struck by a small, red eastbound auto driven by a male, police said. There were no injuries.
While Strauss was calling police to report the accident, the male in the red car drove away, police said. The red car has front-end damage, police said.
Drug Bust
State police report they stopped motorist Jeremy Lederer, 23, of Saddle River, N.J., for speeding about 12:30 am January 29 on eastbound Interstate-84, east of Exit 11. State police said Lederer failed field sobriety tests. A search turned up the illegal drug PCP, also known as kettamine, state police said.
State police charged Lederer with driving under the influence, possession of PCP, and speeding.
Lederer was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Pistol Charge
Police report they spotted Arthur Moore, 34, of New Haven walking fast along Wasserman Way about 10:39 am February 6 and stopped to ask if he needed assistance.
Police then learned that Moore had just left the Daytop substance abuse treatment center at Greenwich House at Fairfield Hills. Newtown police also learned that New Haven police held an arrest warrant for Moore on a charge of criminal possession of a pistol.
Newtown police transported Moore to the police station where they held him until turning him over to New Haven police, who then held him on a $50,000 bond on the pistol charge.
Knollwood
Police report a two-car accident at the intersection of Knollwood Drive and Reservoir Road about 11:45 am February 3.
The collision involved a 1989 Toyota Corolla driven by Joan M. Treble, 77, of New York City, and a 1997 Nissan Sentra driven by Elizabeth B. Smith, 37, of 13 Knollwood Drive, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Treble a written warning for making an improper turn.
