America’s Lighthouses Will Be Focus Of Paddlers Club Meeting

BROOKFIELD — Housatonic Valley Paddlers Club will hold a meeting on Monday, February 13, at 7 pm at The Brookfield Community Center, 100 Pocono Road. Newcomers and nonmembers are welcome.

The meeting’s topic will be “Saving America’s Lighthouses.”

Rick Koehler will present a brief history of lighthouses in New England, display pictures and replicas of some famous lighthouses, discuss different types of Fresnel lenses used in the past to focus light many miles out to sea, and talk about the role the American Lighthouse Foundation plays in the restoration and preservation of these historic structures.

Please note the club has changed its regular monthly meeting date to the second Monday of each month.
