Connecticut ‘Teacher Of The Year’ Award Deadline Nears

MERIDEN — Teachers’ Insurance Plan, an auto insurance program exclusively for educators, announced that time is running out to nominate the Connecticut 2004-05 “Teacher of the Year.”

The award will include $1,000 to the winning teacher in the state and a $500 grant to that teacher’s school.

The state winner will also be eligible for the National Award that includes a special recognition and a $2,500 travel certificate.

The deadline for submissions is February 28 and nomination forms can be found online at www.teachers.com. Winners will be announced during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

Teachers, students, and parents can nominate any of Connecticut’s more than 50,000 accredited teachers.

To nominate an educator, or yourself, tell Teachers’ Insurance Plan in 250 words or less why this teacher should be the Teacher of the Year. Nominees will be judged on their ability to motivate students, their special talents, experiences, and any awards or recognitions they have received.
