The Newtown Public Schools Recovery Project has scheduled parent forums at Reed Intermediate School and Head O’ Meadow Elementary School.

The Reed Intermediate School Parent Forum, called “I Know I Can Because I Am,” will be conducted on Monday, February 10, in two sessions, one from 9:15 am until 10:15 am in Reed’s cafetorium, and one from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Reed’s media center.

The goal of the Reed forum will be to support parents’ sense of resiliency by guiding them in giving themselves credit for all that they are already accomplishing as parents, according to the Newtown Public Schools Recovery Project. The forum will be facilitated by Hope Bray, LCSW, social worker at the Reed School, and Genia Brockett, LMFT, for Wellmore Behavioral Health.

The Parent Forum at Head O’ Meadow, called “Tips for Routine Sleep Difficulties,” is set for Wednesday, February 12. Sessions will be offered from 9 am until 9:45 am in the school’s cafeteria, and from 6 to 7 pm in the school’s library.

This forum will help parents who have difficulty getting their child to sleep at night, and will offer information on dealing with a variety of issues related to the topic. The forum will be facilitated by Rosa Baldino, Wellmore Behavioral Health.
