Marcus A. Amaral, of Newtown, passed away on January 24, at the age of 82.

Those who will miss him most are his lovely wife, Carol; his son, Neal; his brother, Daniel, and wife, Carol, and their daughters, Cheryl, Cathy, and Cindy; and his nieces, Cheryl and Kim.

Until his retirement, Marcus was the Parts Manager of Amaral Motors.

In the words of Frank Sinatra, Marcus did it his way. He’ll be missed as much as remembered for his brutal, hold-nothing-back honesty. For all that gruffness, though, he acted generously, randomly, and in private. Marcus also loved vintage cars, food, dogs, and raw comedy.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown on Saturday, February 6, from 11 am to 1 pm, with a prayer service to follow. Interment will be in St Rose Cemetery.
