Women's Center Seeks Volunteers
Womenâs Center Seeks Volunteers
The Womenâs Center of Greater Danbury is now screening volunteers for its spring Domestic Violence â Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training. The 40-hour training will be March 19, 21, 27, 31, April 4, 9, 11, 19, 24, and 30. All weekday classes are held from 5:30 to 9 pm, while the Saturday session runs from 9 am to 3 pm. Bilingual and male candidates are encouraged to apply.
This training will qualify the volunteer to do crisis intervention counseling, which is a hotline position that can be done on-site during business hours, or after business hours from your home. This training is also a prerequisite for specialized positions such as peer counseling, court advocacy, group facilitation, and shelter advocacy.
Daycare and evening childcare and other non-counseling positions such as fundraising, clerical support, and writing are also available and require only a five-hour orientation.Â
