Jobs 2009, A Special Series

FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road, is offering a series of workshops through April 1 to assist area residents who are looking for work.

The series, titled Jobs 2009, will bring together area recruiting and labor professionals speaking on timely topics such as job placement, resume writing, current labor trends, the executive job market, job hunting online, and starting a successful freelancing business.

Upcoming speakers and their topic are:

Resume Basics, Monday, February 2, noon to 2 pm. Presenter: Connecticut Department of Labor.

Successful Freelancing, Saturday, February 7, 9:15 am to 1:15 pm. Presenter: John Sarra, professor of information systems at Albertus Magnus College.

Executive Career Management in a Recession Environment, Tuesday, February 10, 7 pm. Presenter: Dave Opton, founder of ExecuNet.

Advanced Resume Writing and Critique, Thursday, February 19, 11 am to 1 pm. Presenter: Connecticut Department of Labor
