A Magical Evening
A Magical Evening
To the Editor:
The Tercentennial Ball was a magical evening for all those attending. As the kickoff event for this Tercentennial year, the ball provided the perfect venue. Thanks to Claudia Coopersmith, Linda Pickwick, and Joanne Kearns, the Fireside Inn was transformed into an elegant ballroom. Although at capacity, the Fireside was the place to renew old acquaintances, while making new ones.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers who contributed to the success of this wonderful event.
Terri Ann Martocci and Carol Garbarino, along with the many members of their committee, were in charge of the auction and the raffle. As this was the major fundraiser for the Tercentennial Year events, we applaud their efforts and thank all the donors for their contributions.
Marg Studleyâs committee worked tirelessly getting all the invitations sorted and mailed. Marg and Don Studley spent countless hours on registrations. Thanks to their dedication the evening progressed smoothly.
Newtown Savings Bank employees Nicole Stampp and Linda DeLaurentis provided invaluable assistance over the last two months. Marlene Husvar, Emily Miller, and Rebecca Kayfus, also of Newtown Savings Bank, volunteered their time to operate the credit card machine for the auction and raffle.
Thanks, also, to Father Robert Weiss and Rabbi Praver for their moving invocation; auctioneers Bob Tendler and Richard Coopersmith for providing an exciting and fast-paced auction; and the Newtown Police Department.
Newtown High School students Greg Gordon, Eric Bagger, Tyler VonOy, and Dan Morehouse, looked quite dapper escorting the ladies to their tables.
And last, but not least, a special thank you to Josie Ricciardi from the Fireside Inn, for going above and beyond, in assisting the committees to ensure a memorable time for all.
