Grade 4

Crazy Bananas 22, Jolly Ranchers 11. For the Bananas, Kira Smith and Julia Doyle led the offense, while Danielle Powell and Jemma Petit were strong on defense. For the Ranchers, Shannon Cheh led the offense, while Caroline Condon and Jaclyn O’Leary were tough on defense

Dark Sharks 14, H2O 13. For the Sharks, Sarah Britton led the offense, and Julia Haskins and Rachel Phillips were aggressive on defense. For H2O, Julia Anderson and Catherine Shaw led the offense, while Larkin Huffman and Lucy Draper were strong on defense

 Orange Crush 20, Hot Tamales 10. For the Crush, Madison Findley and Camryn Findley led the offense, while Erin Burns and Catherine Rizk were a force on defense. For the Tamales, Olivia Hage and Kaitlyn Child led the offense, while Danni Otero and Lauren Carrino were strong on defense

Grade 6

Newtown 24, Southbury 23. In a neighborhood battle, Newtown clinched the victory with aggressive defense and sharp rebounding. Caitlin Linden and Kelly Merrick controlled the boards with Katie Reilly and Lauren Wilcox playing monstrous defense in the paint. Haley Ryan and Casey Harkins quarterbacked the offense, while Katie Mossbarger and Alana Murray combined for 6 assists and 3 steals

Boys

Grade 2

Huskies. The Huskies were led by solid offensive performances by Jack Lydon, Nathan Bellagamba, and Keenan Murphy ,while Joe Rios, Rohan Manusukhani, and Kyle Griffin dominated defensively with their aggressive play.

Celtics. Great overall play by Nolan Adis, Adam Bowditch, Jimmy Gillen, and John Godino

Striker. Luke Azzarito and Sean McKinley where offensive, standouts, while Matthew Bradbury and Alexander Lloyd led the defense.

Wolverines. Offensive stars were Sam Eppers and Sawyer Findley, while Brandon Lutz and Owen Meeker were standouts on defense.

Orange Crush. Jack Stenz, Sean Roche, William Archiere, and Keiran Coffey led the Orange Crush offensive attack, while Jared Dunn, Jack Street and Luke Hannan shut down the opposition on defense.

Wildcats. The Wildcats were led by great team defense. Max Hanson, Kyle Sullivan, Kyle Good, Robert Hetzer, Josh Taylor, and Ethan Braddock led the defensive charge. Offensively, the ‘Cats displayed some great passing and offensive rebounding.

Grade 3

Slimers vs Magic. Thomas Hartley, Connor Hughes, and Luke Sansonetti led a relentless Slimer offensive attack, while Jack Swanson, Kyle Cascone, and Jonathan Nahmias led a stingy defensive. The Magic’s intense defensive pressure provided opportunities for their running offensive. The defensive intensity was directed by Mark Leonardo, Michael Annesley, and Ayden Kasbarian. The offensive spark was provided by Griffin Cross and Michael Sheridan.

Red Heat vs Golden Retrievers. The Red Heat put together a great game with Trevor Bottom, Logan Flynn, and Andrew Gardner playing some great defense. Luke Fisher, Morgan Main, and Miles Martiska had a super offensive output. The Golden Retrievers were led by Gabe Stewart with 5 assists at point guard, while Nick Accousti, Henry Vaughn, and Tom Usher played well offensively. Todd Petersen had 10 rebounds and 10 steals, while Nick Cappelli, Matt Jaeger, and Griffin Estes played well defensively.

Ghostbusters vs The Mighty Squirrels. The Mighty Squirrels continue to develop strong 5 on 5 skills. The entire team came together with an exceptionally fast-paced game. Forrest Anderson, Timmy McCarthy, and Liam Creeden demonstrated strong offensive skills. Bryan Ingwersen , Reed Hammond, and Ben Nowacki showed how to play effective, aggressive defense. All players on the team had a very good showing. The Ghostbusters were led offensively by James Doyle, Jimmie Davies, and Tucker Garrity, while Tommy Murray, Timmy Davis, and Justin Kahn led the defense.

Grade 4

Thrill 25, Wildcats 14. Ethan Aug had 5 points for the Thrill. Bobby ward had 3 assists, Josh Dunn had 5 steals, and Ryan Patrick played an outstanding defensive game. Jack Murray and Jake Pirone combined for 12 points for the Wildcats, while Tristan Crone 4 assists, Dino Vogiatzis had 4 steals and Jacob Duffy had 6 boards.

Thrill 33, Fire Dragons 29. Josh Dunn had 16 points for the Thrill. Wyatt Moyer had 3 assists, Eric Vigneau had 5 steals and Ethan Aug played an outstanding defensive game and pulled down 8 rebounds. Ryan Escoda and Adam Wolff combined for 23 points for the Fire Dragons. Conor Dinallo had 3 assists, while Aidan Ford had 4 steals and Christian Lestik had 7 rebounds.

Panthers 22, Huskies 18. The Panthers were led on offense by Silas Decker and Christian Adam, who combined for 14 points. Justin Woodward had 6 assists, Eugene Citrano had 5 steals ,while Liam Jones had 6 rebounds. For the Huskies, Andrew DeLuca had 12 points. Adam Farley had 4 assists, Cameron MacDonald led the defense and Nate Jones had 6 rebounds.

Skyhawks 26, Dark Knights 25. For the Sky Hawks Matt Principi and Thomas Skrelja combined for 18 points, while Wally Skrelja had 6 assists and Brian Montoya had 4 steals. Dwyer pulled down 9 rebounds. For the Knights Dyan and Cameron Champagne combined for 14 points. Chris Daubert had 5 steals, Ben Terry had 4 assists, and Doug Carriero had 6 rebounds.

Fire Dragons 35, Bullsharks 27. Aidan Ford and Rob Murray combined for 27 points. Ryan Escoda had 5 assists while Conor Dinallo had 4 steals and Adam Wolff had 7 rebounds. For the Bullsharks John Finnegan and James Hobar combined for 17. James Heran had 5 assists, Ian Klepacki had 3 steals and James Hobar had 7 rebounds.

Huskies 27, Wildcats 17. For the Huskies Andrew DeLuca had 16 points. Adam Farley had 4 assists, Nate Jones led the defense and Alex Street had 7 rebounds. Greg Brissette and Jake Pirone combined for 10 points for the Wildcats while Marc Carlson 4 assists, Zach Demeglio had 4 steals and Jack Murray chipped in with 6 rebounds.

Panthers 31, Dark Knights 22. The Panthers were led on offense by Silas Decker and Eugene Citrano who combined for 14 points, Danny Fore had 6 assists, Rick Mariani had 5 steals while Teddy Wojcik had 6 rebounds For the Knights Chris Daubert had 6 points while Jack Carello had 5 steals, Doug Carriero had 4 assists and Owen Rahr had 6 rebounds.

Skyhawks 28, Thrill 28. Joshua Dunn had 14 points for the Thrill. Wyatt Moyer had 3 assists, Ethan Aug had 12 steals and Jack Buchler played an outstanding defensive game. For the Sky Hawks Thomas Skrelja had 12 points while Matt Principi had 4 assists and Jackson Dooley had 4 steals. Sterling Radasci pulled down 6 rebounds.

Hotshots 18, Skyhawks 16. Hotshots were led by Evan Eggleston and Cole Demirjian who combined for 10 points. Dan Badiola had 4 assists while Shane Powers had 5 steals and Kevin Riccardi had 6 rebounds. For the Sky Hawks Brian Montoya had 8 points while Wally Skrelja had 4 assists and Jon Grimes had 4 steals. Thomas Skrelja pulled down 12 rebounds.

Grade 5

March Madness 20, Lightning 16. March Madness was led offensively by Chad Azzarito with 10 points, while Jordan Klein and Elliott Bennett chipped in with 4 each. The key driver to the victory was a great team defensive effort to hang on and win. For the Lightening Michael Liberante and Steven Moccio led the offense with 6 points each. Tremendous efforts were also given by Joey Conrod and R.H. Clark, who combined for 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. Notable on defense were Bradley Wiseman and Jacob Anastasi, who combined for 6 boards and 5 steals.

Dawgs 26, Blue Devils 16. The Dawgs’ Ben Dieckman had a career high 12 points and Mitchell Long led the team with 8 rebounds. Tommy Kitzmiller added 8 points and 6 assists. Ryan Marusi played aggressive shut down defense and had 3 blocked shots. The Blue Devils jumped out to an early lead led by Jack Palermo, who had 8 points on the day. Justin Gillespie and Matthew Krasnickas added 2 and 4 points, respectfully. Evan Kohlsaat an Will LeMay had 2 rebounds a piece.

Green Monsters 30, Blues Brothers 14. The Green Monsters offensive was led by Matthew Kugler with 8 points, and Austin DeSousa and Mark Larsorsa with 4 each. In their attempt to slay the mighty dragons, Peter Clifford scored 10 points and had a pair of steals. Will Huegi and Bradley Capeci also scored for the Brothers with 2 points each. Huegi and Nicholas Lametto had 2 steals in the effort to take down the first place Monsters. Bryan Morrissey led the Blues Brothers in rebounds with 2.

Tigers 20, Destiny 18. The Tigers were led by Austin Kasbarian’s 8 points, Gregg Trimarchi with 4 steals, and Tyler LaCroce with 5 rebounds and game winning fastbreak from Spencer Burden. Team Destiny suffered a two-point loss at the buzzer. Brandon Pavlicek, Thomas Leuci, and Cameron Mitchell pounded the rebounds extremely well. David Usher and Ryan Brello played well. Dylan Kretz and Ryan Brello dribbled well as they played the guard position. Patrick Flynn led the team in steals.

Blue Devils 25, Blues Brothers 19. Nicholas Lansing led the Blue Devils offense with 6 points and Noah LaFerriere and Ryan Norton supported the offensive assault with 4 points each. Jack Palermo and Matthew Krasnickas dominated the boards with 6 and 4 rebounds, respectfully. Braden Marcinek sealed the deal nailing two foul shots. For the Blues Brothers Will Huegi and Peter Clifford led with 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 steals. Bradley Capeci, Willie Whitlock, and Bryan Morrissey each found the bottom of the net once for 2 points. Robert Lombardo finished the scoring for the Brothers going 1 for 2 from the foul line and he also garnered 3 rebounds. Thomas Stanczyk played great under the boards with 5 rebounds and a steal.

Tigers 27, Destiny 12. The Tigers were led by Austin Kasbarian with 14 points, Zachary Anderson with 5 steals, and Quinlan Hart with 8 Rebounds. Destiny was led by Dylan Kretz with 10 points. Thomas Addessi was the rebound king and David Usher had 3 steals.

March Madness 25, Dawgs 18. March Madness used a complete team effort to win this match. Connery Mayer, Chad Azzarito, and Chris Anesi each scored 6 pointes, while Nick Venezia chipped in 4. Robert Hutchins, Elliott Bennett and Taylor Koonz played instrumental roles on the boards and defensive end. Adam Bell scored 8 points to lead the Dawgs. Colin Villamana played outstanding defense resulting in 5 steals. Tim Jaeger led the team with 5 rebounds. Jack Riley had 4 points with his long-range jump shot connecting twice.

Green Monsters 25, Lightning 19. The Green Monsters were led by Henry Primavera with 15 points. Adding offensive support were Parker Johnson and Gino Pagliaro with 4 points each. In only their second defeat of the season, the Lightning came up a bit short in a real thriller. After cutting a 12-point Monster lead to 1 in the fourth quarter, the electric yellow squad could not quite close the deal. Steven Moccio put forth an outstanding effort on both ends of the floor with 8 points, 4 steals, 2 blocked shots, and an assist. He was supported by Kevin Arther who added 6 points, 7 steals, and an assist of his own. R.H. Clark also played well with 8 boards, 5 stealsand 2 assists; and Matthew Frazzetta rounded out the Lightning effort with 4 points, 1 boardand an assist.

Grade 6

Newtown Gold 47, St. Mary’s 45. Newtown won its final league game of the season, holding off a late rally. Ryan Shaw was a force inside the paint, scoring 13 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. Matt Maturo scored 9 points (including Newtowns last 5 late in the fourth), Mason Melillo 8 points (with 4 blocked shots), and Matt Elias 7. Geoff Santore played well in transition and added 2 baskets. Alex Gerbo secured 6rebounds and scored 3 points. Austin LeBlanc and Kieran Lynch directed the offense from the point, while James Frazzetta had a well rounded game with all 2s (points, assists, steals, and rebounds).

Thunder 51, Celtics 44. Christian Thanasoulis scored 16 points to lead the Thunder scorers with Spencer Johnson adding another 9 points. Sean Dalton led the team with 4 assists. Thunder defense was led by Thomas Gavel with 5 steals and rebound leader Kevin Chernoff with 6 rebounds. For the Celtics it was Jack Procaccini leading all scorers with 16 points and Stephen Brittin adding another 7 points. James Carney led the team with 5 assists. Celtics defense was led by Max Weber with 4 steals and James Barry on the boards with 5 rebounds.

Magic 38, Wolfpack 36. Matt Davis and Kevin Finnegan led the Magic’s scoring with 8 points each. Timmy Leblanc led the team with 5 assists. Maxim Donaher led the defensive charge with 4 steals and Markus Wessell grabbed 5 rebounds. For the Wolfpack Bobby Katrinak scored 9 points with Nick Rohrbacher adding another 7 points. Andrew Drap led the team with 4 assists. Wolfpack defense was led by Tucker Kistner with 4 steals and Daniel McCarthy with 5 rebounds.

Hurricanes 51, Huskies 37. Sam Duffy led the Hurricanes’ scoring with 20 points followed closely by teammate Colin Patrick with 19 points. James Accousti led the team with 8 assists. Dylan Solano led the team with 4 steals with Jackson Cryder pulling down 5 rebounds. For the Huskies Declan Sullivan scored 14 points and Nick Bourgeois scored 8 points. Andrew Ross led the team with 3 steals. On defense Matt Stewart led the team with 3 steals and Tommy Elliott grabbed 5 rebounds.

Celtics 58, Huskies 52. Jack Procaccini led the Celtics with 19 points and Jeremy Salaris added another 12 points. Matt Campbell led the team with 4 assists. On defense Matt St Jean led the team with 3 steals and Kyle Keeping on the boards with 5 rebounds. For the Huskies Gordon Walsh scored 16 points and Declan Sullivan added another 10 points. Adam Weber led the team with 5 steals. Huskies defense was led by Charlie Fletcher with 5 steals and Connor Flint with 5 rebounds.

Thunder 36, Wolfpack 31. Christian Thanasoulis led the Thunder with 16 points and Spence Johnson with 7 points. John Cagganello led the team with 5 assists. On defense Bryan Kiley had 5 steals and Patrick Briscoe grabbed 6 rebounds. The Wolfpack scoring was led by Nick Rohrbacher with 9 points and Andrew Drap with 8 points. Michael O’Keefe led the team with 6 assists. On defense James Craig had 3 steals and James Buck had 8 rebounds.

Hurricanes 51, Magic 41. Sam Duffy scored 13 points and Patrick Colin scored 12 points to lead the Hurricanes offense. Matt Meyers led the team with 6 assists. David Anderson led the defense with 4 steals and Andrey Masser with 5 rebounds. The Magic scoring was led by Nick Samuelson and Matt Davis each scoring 12 points. Peter Winans led the team with 5 assists. On defense Hunter Booker created turnovers with 4 steals and Lucas Ladestro grabbed 5 rebounds.

Grades 7-8

Jazz 50, Huskies 34. For Jazz, Otto Kerler was the high scorer with 22 points. Jack Corbett was the assist leader, Sawyer Conrad the defensive star and Harry Depuy the rebound leader. Curtis Giles and Liam Decker played tight defense. For the Huskies, Chris Carroll was the high scorer with 12 points. Aaron Beckett was the defensive star and Cameron Patrick the rebound leader. Ty Runkle had 2 three pointers.

Eagles 44, Heat 41. For the Eagles, Zach Bergeron was the assist leader and Ryan Sullivan the defensive star. Julian Dunn and Joey Santella led the Eagles with 33. For Heat, Matt White was the high scorer with 18 points. Colin Reilly was the assist leader, Jack Lago the defensive star and rebound leader. Joe Calbo chipped in 8 points and a strong game.

Runnin Rebels 46, Vipers 37. For Runnin Rebels, Jimmy Leidlein, Colin Post, and Jacob Moore were the high scorers with 23, 8 and 8, respectively. Shane Quimby was the assist leader, Alec Clark the defensive star and Dom Scarangella the rebound Leader. For the Vipers, Stephen Walsh was the high scorer with 12 points.

X-Men 49, Magic 26. For X-men, Bobby Archiere and Greg LaRussa were the high scorers for a combined total of 23 points. Tommy Shaker was the assist leader, Keaton McCleary the defensive star, and David Csordas the rebound leader. For the Magic, Garrison Buzzanca and Mitchell Stewart were the high scorers with 9 and 7 points, respectively. Jon Eron was the assist leader, Jared Tananbaum the defensive star and Darryl Silverlieb the rebound leader.

Celtics 53, Wizards 23. For the Celtics, Tim Kelly and Jon Sherman were the high scorers with 18 and 16 points respectively. John Sherman was also the assist leader and Tim Kelly the rebound leader. For the Wizards, Nick Swenson and Adam Israel were the high scorers with 8 and 6 points, respectively.

Cavs 56, Hammerheads 39. For the Cavs, Drew Tarantino was the high scorer with 28 points. Richard LaPak was the assist leader and Nick Norberg the rebound leader. Nick Norberg, William Swain and Matt Wood contributed 8 points each. Luke Rustici and Chris Hokachuck played well. For the Hammerheads, Micke Davenport and Spencer Brindley were the high scorers with 11 points each. Jeremy Fellin was the assist leader, Danny Cummings the defensive star, and Will Dalton the rebound leader. Ryan Szalay chipped in with 8 points.

Wolfpack 40, Wildcats 31. For the Wolfpack, Virgil Procaccini and Alex Romeo were the high scorers with 22 and 8 points, respectively. Trevor Palmer was the defensive star and Sam Adam the rebound leader. For the Wildcats, Patrick Burger and Austin Babyak were the high scorers with a combined total of 20 points. Jordan Sock added 5 as the assist leader and Eric Cascone the rebound leader. Great passing and team play.

Nuggets 31, Thunder 30. For the Nuggets, Wesley Morlock and Andrew Cragin were the high scorers with 11 and 7 points respectively. Danny Winn was the assist leader, Harry Duffy the defensive star and Griffin Davis the rebound leader. A tough fought game which went back and forth with C.J. Dunn hitting the game-winning shot — his only basket — with 10 seconds left. For Thunder, Nick Lotrecchiano was the high scorer with 9 points. Dough Miller was the assist leader, Zach Weiland the defensive star, and Ryan Wagner the rebound leader.

Wolfpack 47, Bricklayers 37. For Wolfpack, Virgil Procaccini and Ben Payne were the high scorers with 20 and 8 points, respectively. Jason Ferrari was the defensive star and Forest Speed the rebound leader. For the Bricklayers, Pat Afriyie and Jaret DeVellis were the high scorers with 20 and 12 points, respectively. Conor Miller was the defensive star.
