Ambulance Volunteers Are Superb
Ambulance Volunteers Are Superb
To the Editor:
Iâm writing to express my praise of the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association, whose crews are not only prompt, professional, and competent, but incredibly kind and supportive.
In the past few months both I and my 2-year-old granddaughter have had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. I was cared for by a wonderful team of people who seemed genuinely concerned as to how I was doing, even to the point of driving slowly down my long bumpy driveway so I wouldnât be uncomfortable. The crew who came for my granddaughter helped her with great kindness and tenderness to weather the trip without too much crying, except for when the oxygen mask was placed. They promptly took it off and held it near her nose and mouth. When they called ahead to the emergency room, they even told them that she would not tolerate a facial mask for the oxygen, so that an uncomfortable attempt was not made a second time.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association is superb. We are truly blessed in Newtown to have such wonderful people volunteering their time and skill to help us.
Sincerely,
Marjorie Cramer, MD
