Collecting For Local Food Pantries

On Saturday, March 10, and Sunday, March 11, St Rose of Lima parish will conduct its annual Spring Food Drive for the benefit of the hungry in western Connecticut.

Collected food will be distributed to FAITH Food Pantry, Newtown Social Services, and other charitable service organizations in Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Bagged donations ofÂ fresh, unopened, nonperishable food will be collected in front of St Rose of Lima, 46 Church Hill Road. The collections will run on Saturday from 3 to 6:30 pm, and on Sunday from 7:30 am until noon.

I have lived in Newtown for over 60 years and this is the first I have ever heard of the Rochambeau Trail. When I checked with the National Park Service and our state only Nationally Historic Site the official records of the Rochambeau Trail administrated by NPS does not travel through this property. If you are arguing it is "Near" the trail then where was the outrage when Big Y was built? The new development on 6 and 25 or even the Starbucks.
