DERBY â How is maple syrup made? The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protectionâs (DEPâs) Kellogg Environmental Center will offer a program on Saturday, March 3, from 10 to 11:30, am, that will cover the historical and current methods of sap collection and production into maple syrup.
Participants will taste the various stages of maple syrup production from sap to sugar and learn the legends surrounding this seasonal and regional product. Workshop leaders will also supply a list of syrup demonstration locations easily found throughout Connecticut.
The program is suitable for all ages, and there is no charge but preregistration is required.
