Gardening Series At Bethel Library

BETHEL — Get ready for Spring by attending the Bethel Public Library’s 2012 Annual Gardening Series.

Sponsored by Bethel Garden Club, the series features three programs, each open to the public free of charge; registration is required for each program, however. Programs run from 6:30 to 8 pm at the library, 189 Greenwood Avenue.

On Tuesday, March 6, garden photographer and writer Karen Bussolini will share her expert advice for nurturing the native ecosystem in a program entitled “Naturescape Your Yard.”

On Tuesday, March 13, local wellness practitioner Dr Thomas Worden will discuss some of the plant world’s best all-natural cures in the program “Healing with Plants.”

The series will conclude on Tuesday, April 13, with well-known garden speaker Amy Ziffer, who will talk about adapting the classic cottage garden style to the often challenging conditions of our Northeast gardens in “A Connecticut Cottage Garden.”

Participants will be eligible for coupons to the Bethel Garden Club’s Perennial Plant Sale.

Registration can be done through the library’s online calendar at www.bethellibrary.org or by calling 203-794-8756 extension 4

All programs held at Bethel Public Library are open to the public and meet accessibility requirements for the disabled. Those needing special accommodations should contact the library as soon as possible to make arrangements.
