Rebecca “Becca” Katherine DiDomizio was born on August 24, 1999, in Bridgeport, Conn. She passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2020, in Newtown, Conn, at the age of 20. She was the beloved daughter of Kim and Peter DiDomizio, loving sister of Allie and Libby DiDomizio, and precious granddaughter of Stephen and Jean Koch. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved her dearly.

Becca will be remembered as an angel by her family, and they cherish many unforgettable moments spent with her. She was a light that shined on so many lives. Her expressive eyes and pure heart communicated more than words ever could. Becca showed us the beauty in everyone’s differences and that life’s greatest treasures are hidden in simple moments. She truly taught everyone the meaning of unconditional love. Becca enjoyed being surrounded by others, whether that be family, friends, or the amazing staff members in the Newtown school district. She has been so loved and accepted by all in the Newtown community. Being a part of Unified Sports was more than an after-school activity for Becca; it became a place for her to be with others who embraced her wholeheartedly. There are countless people who impacted her life as much as she impacted theirs.

Rebecca is predeceased by her grandparents, John and Ruth DiDomizio; her uncles, Joseph, Domenic, and John Jr DiDomizio; and her cousins, Breanna and Morgan DiDomizio. We take comfort in knowing they are all together now.

All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday, March 6, at 10 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Interment will follow at Newtown Village Cemetery. Private calling hours on Thursday for family members.

Should one choose, and to honor Rebecca’s memory, please consider a contribution to the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Neurology Epilepsy Program in gratitude to Dr Pue Farooque. Please make your check payable to Yale Department of Neurology, Division of Epilepsy and mail your donation to Yale Medical Development Office, Attention Sharon McManus, P.O. Box 7611, New Haven CT 06519-0611.
